We're proud to present Keejays as an independent family business - creators of speciality sauces and pastes for 35 years, including Goldfish Brand and Taste Keejays of Suffolk, all made in the heart of the Suffolk countryside.
Our passion is to bring the flavours we love from from around the world direct to you through our range of Asian, European, American and traditional British varieties.
Our sauces are created and produced using our many years of experience with spices and ingredients from around the world, together with a hardworking, "foodie-driven" dedication which exists throughout the Keejays team. We truly believe that our passion shines through in every sauce that we create.
Keejays was established in 1985 by Mr Kee Wah Lee and his son, Sammy, after they identified a business opportunity to produce and supply curry sauce mixes for Chinese catering kitchens across the UK.
Migrating from Hong Kong to Britain in 1957, Mr Kee Wah Lee was driven to realising his dream of developing a food catering business in his 'New World', leading him to open the first ever Chinese restaurant in Clacton-on-Sea, on England's east coast. His successful venture enabled additional outlets in the Suffolk county town of Ipswich and nearby market town of Hadleigh, where Keejays is based today.
Britain experienced a significant increasing trend for Chinese take-away food throughout the 70s and 80s. This created a growing demand across the country for specialist catering products that could be quickly prepared, yet provide consistent quality. So in 1985, Mr Lee and Sammy founded Keejays, creating the Goldfish Brand to service this need, a range of restaurant-grade curry sauce concentrate mixes that still lead the catering and in-home markets today.
In 1990, Mr Lee was joined by another of his sons, with the ambition of widening the production scope of Keejays. As the business developed and gained vital technical experience, Keejays' product capability rapidly expanded, partnering with retailers and other food manufacturers in putting together quality sauce solutions for both catering and home.
Today, Chinese flavours are still a part of what we do here at Keejays, with the projects and partners we work with giving us experience across a truly international-inspired range of cuisines and tastes.
Our story, therefore our future, continues to positively and successfully evolve. Our team is growing and we continue to build on Mr Lee's legacy to deliver quality, excellent taste and first class service.
